ABOUT US
The delectable cuisine and elegant, yet comfortable atmosphere of all Tuscan Oven restaurants is a direct outgrowth of the rich heritage and authentic Italian foundation that owners Anthony and Karen Pirraglia bring to their life's passion. It is no accident that one step inside the door sends you on an exhilarating culinary journey through authentic Tuscan countryside.
Scallop Dish

The original Tuscan Oven opened in Mount Kisco, New York in 1992 and later in Norwalk, Connecticut. With a dedicated focus on the simplicity of style, fresh ingredients and warm company that make true Italian cuisine experience so special, the Pirraglias made it their focus to adorn their restaurant with the romance of the rolling hills of Northern Italy. Each Tuscan Oven restaurant strives to capture the hearts of people throughout New York, Connecticut and beyond with a romantic Tuscan setting and an array of tantalizing dishes.

Instilling this inviting atmosphere in the new restaurant seemed only natural to Anthony. Being raised in a strong and loving Italian family that had its roots in the Naples region of Italy, Anthony was destined from birth to live the dream that would become the Tuscan Oven. Based on his strong Italian upbringing in the Arthur Avenue area of the Bronx and his introduction to fine Italian food at a very young age, Anthony began his entrepreneurial career by running his own wine and spirit specialty store in New York.

That experience only grew with time. Anthony began hosting wine tasting events and educational events at such notable locations as the MET on his way to becoming one of the most respected names in wine throughout New York and Connecticut. In 1990, he carried his unquestioned knowledge of wines and ever-growing background in Italian cuisine over to the restaurant industry.
On a recent trip to Italy

His wife Karen helped ensure that the new restaurant exhibited the unique appeal of authentic Tuscan atmosphere. Upon visiting Italy as a young woman, Karen was awestruck by the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of the country's enthralling culture. Inspired by these frequent trips to the Italian countryside, Karen used her keen eye and the sensations embedded in her memory to help shape an inviting décor and personality for the Tuscan Oven. With this spirit in mind, the Pirraglias frequently return to Italy to stay abreast of the latest trends in Italian cuisine, ensuring that everyone who experiences the Tuscan Oven has an authentic dining experience that will leave a lasting impression that is saturated with visions and tastes of Italy.
